Benchmark tables UK who wants one

I recently read on here about a UK dealer who might be stocking them and then it looked like it fell through. I really want one myself and will look into getting a few shipped over if I can. If you are interested in getting one please reply here and I think if we all club together we might get something sorted.

To make it simple we will just be ordering the basic table with no frills which I'm sure will be fine for most people.

No promises but while I'm stuck at home not working with sciatica  [sad] I've got plenty of time on my hands to look into this.

So please reply so I can get an idea of numbers.

i know i have enough workbenchs but i am drawn to this. i love my walko but it is a pain to cut sheets on the ground.

Im interested I only want the basic one thats it.  If you end up gettin all the crap with it I think it will end up just becoming dust collectors.

I just want a simple light weight bench which takes up minimal room in the van but can easily be set up and just do the job in supporting large sheets for me to cut!  Simples! Nothing more!

i think most of the accesories are fluff. they dont add a lot to the bench. the pins for raising the work up would be handy but they are only sections of bar anyway so can be made your self.

I would also be interested as for price and taxes etc perhaps you can enquire , I have a friend in the USA so I may ask him but I am open to getting into a group purchase of one .

No its not much fun lost 2 weeks work so far  [sad] ended up going by ambulance to hospital last Saturday night they dosed me right up. Had gas and air, morphine, diclofenac, something else and something else lol completely off my nut I was. Getting better now though gotta have physio etc hopefully get back working soon. I've always had a bad back but kept it away for ages until now, by doing yoga and sit ups etc.

Back to the tables yeah as I say we should just get the starter package save on weight for shipping. I wonder if we get the tax deducted as we are outside of the US obviously we will have to pay vat and duty when it all arrives here. I'm sure there's more experienced people on this forum that could answer this.

Hey joiner hope you're back on your feet soon.

I would be interested if the price is right.  I've got a mft but find it doesn't fit my needs, good in a workshop but i want something more mobile. Walko looks good, how do you rate it AlanM?

walko is great. it takes up a lot of room thow. its great on site . you can cut full sheets down and still have a normal bench to work on. althow not at the same time.
i think it is wonderfull for site use where you need adaptability. . i leave my mft800 at home most of the time. the one problem with the walko is that you have to put it on the ground to cut full sheets (or bring 2 saw horses),

Hi yeah I spoke to them through Facebook I think when I first spotted them a long time ago. They just said they had no intention of shipping outside the US, but through this forum we have lots of helpful US residents who I'm sure might help.

Trouble with the walco is its more complicated than the average carpenter needs. It's good don't get me wrong but in my eyes the benchmark is exactly what I would make if I need a sheet cutting table.

if you only want it for sheet then the walko is over kill. but for general site use it works great.

If you do open a line of communication with them, I'd be happy to 'help'. I've found a similar solution that I'm going to be supplying soon, though a much more basic idea, it serves a similar purpose.  But if the numbers work, I'd like to bring the Bench Mark over here.  I'll try to contact them again.
