Best $100 or so spent on festool or other

I know a couple of guys who do something similar with the original bags, and they reuse them at least a few times before throwing away the bags. They reseal the partially open end with dust tape (and staples?).
I think not everyone wants to deal with the emptying part that can be pretty dusty. Better do it outdoors.

Take a look on eBay for a seller who adds zippers to a range of standard Festool bags. This is a super easy project to tackle yourself but for all those who don't want to get involved with sourcing a zipper and sewing, much cheaper compared to the Festool option:

i prefer to just dump the bag myself and not deal with the mess.

I know the bags are spendy, but why pay for top quality filtration, then breathe THE WHOLE BAG full of dust by emptying it? I pull that little seal over the hole, say a thank you to the Festool engineers and dump the whole thing in the dumpster.
The best money spent is on the Dust Deputy in conjunction with the iVac auto switch. No more bags changing (at least not until a few more years later), and without opening the vac lid, I can tell if it's time to dump the sawdust. I have one for the Kapex, and one for the drill press/stationary sanders.

M-18 Compact vacuum.
I grab it constantly for little jobs that aren't worth getting a big vac out and a broom doesn't quite get things done.

I used the Flexo method for 3-4 years but noticed the hose became quite stiff and just was not as flexible for sanding and getting into tight areas. At which time I abandoned the Flexo PET braid and went to the Festool offering instead on the CT 22 & MIDI. I like this a lot more.
Here's what the Flexo looks like when it's removed from 2 hoses. [smile]
