Lately I've been getting more and more into HVLP spraying. I recently upgraded from an Earlex to an Apollo setup.

I'm wondering what the best water based acrylic/latex paints are in terms of how hard wearing they are, and available in the UK?

I'm not gonna say they are the best as I have not tried all available paints.
But thinned down Leyland Paints Acrylic Eggshell is one of my favourites.
And Morrells are also pretty good.

Lenmar acrylic is amazing.  They call it a waterborne precat tinted lacquer.  It's high in solids but is very thin and sprays really well via HVLP.  Unthinned in my 4 stage.  They also make an undercoater that has become my favorite. It's not great for stain blocking but it seals well on new wood and sands better than anything I've ever used.  Powders up nicely

I have no idea what's available in the UK, but I've had good success on cabinets with General Finishes Milk Paint plus one of their water based clear coats

Also, FWIW, with the right nozzle the Apollo will spray latex just fine, but obviously slower than  an airless.
