Hello all,

I am trying to build a small desk/bookshelf combo for my son (turning 6) and have not been able to find any plans.  I basically want something "cool" for him to do his homework on, store his K12 books on and house the computer they sent him (small desktop with flat panel monitor).

I have found lots of cool pictures, but I am not experienced enough to build it in my head and lay it out.

Anyone have a cut sheet and basics I could take advantage of?  Was thinking of using Baltic Birch ply to get that Scandinavian vibe.

Cheers

Frank Howarth made one in three videos on YouTube.  I think he has the plans on his website as well.

Check it out:

Good Luck with yours!

It would depend on what other tools you have for joinery. You could bookshelves on both ends of the desk that face outward and also function as the base of the desk. Put a plywood top on it and trim it out with a nice piece of hardwood.
