Since I am in NJ, Forrest makes the most sense, but does anybody know if they also sharpen planer blades?  I have a dewalt dw733 which is discontinued and not having much luck finding replacements at a brick and mortar store.  They can be resharpened, plus doing this would save money always a bonus.

I don't know if Forrest does them but I believe Woodcraft does . Try emailing forrest and see if they do it .

I emailed Forrest, Ridgid Carbide in Lyndhurst, NJ does cost is $20, if that is per blade, cheaper to buy new.

Any halfway decent sharpener will do planer blades.  They are about the simplest thing there is to sharpen.  They should charge by the inch.  Look in your yellow pages or ask a local cabinet shop where they get their blades sharpened.  BTW, google "DW733 blades" and you will find several sellers.  They round just under $50 for a pair.

Late to the party...

But, Forrest sharpens all blades, including planer blades.  We offer a drop off service with a 1 week turn around.  Blades are picked up from us (by Forrest) on Wednesday, and are back in our shop the following Wednesday.

By the way, I just got my planer blades back from the sharpener here in Albuquerque.  The cost was 55 cents per inch, $13.70 with tax for my two DW733 blades.  Well worth it in my book.

On down to router bits. I think I am going to send them my steel cutting carbide chop saw blade and see how they do. It also needs tooth replaced, which they offer as well.

Thanks for the tip.
