Blades for TS55: Festool/Freud/Tenryu/Oshlun/others?

Maybe this has already been beaten to death? In which case please reference where.

I'm wanting to look into other blade options for my TS55, realizing via advice here that I need a 12T or 14T rip blade for doing long rips, and wanting to make an informed decision.

The nicer price of the Tenryu/Freud etc. is much preferable, and amazon reviews seem to be great (but I trust you all here much more than randoms-on-amazon).

If folks could please post their pleasure or displeasure of the Festool alternatives.

-Freud LU87R006M20 Perma-Shield Coated Thin Kerf Rip Saw Blade for Festool Saws, 20mm Arbor 160mm by 14-Teeth ATB

-Tenryu PSW-16012CBD2 160 mm Saw Blade 12T

-I actually don't see an Oshlun 12T blade?

Factors I'm looking for are the 2.2mm width or similar to not mess up my track strips, nice acceptable rip quality, NOT bogging the saw down, etc.

Thank you all!

I just ordered the Tenryu last night.  It's supposed to be here on Wednesday.  I'll let you know.

I bought a Tenryu Rip blade back when the Festool Panther had a different kerf (wider) than the rest of the Festool Blades.  I still use that blade and have been happy with its performance. I haven't counted the teeth on it but I assume that it is the same rip blade referenced.

12 tooth blades are best for 2 x material. I use a 12 tooth for straight line ripping 4/4 stock.
When you say "long rip" what exactly are you ripping?

This doesn't necessarily apply just to rip blades, but I try to keep some spare Oshlun blades around for both the 55 and 75 when I have to do some gnarly cuts, like where I know I'll be hitting nails. They are serviceable for that.  They actually cut out of the box quite well, it's just that they wear out quicker.

I use AGE blades on my Festool saws, 55, 75, HKC.  I use Amana and Freud blades on my chop, SCMS and table-saws.

Can't comment on the rip blades , but I have the Freud 28t & 48t as spares and for cuts in questionable or abrasive material.

They cut really well. At less than half the cost a Festool/ Leitz blade I think they're a good value. The FT blades last longer, but not 2-3x as long.  They are still my go to blade especially when the cut has to be on the money the first time.
