Does anyone make blast gates I can put on the end of each of the "Y" outlets?

thx Shane...most of those pix on the links are no longer avail.

from one thread, it sounds like the Rockler 2.5" blast gate fits?  but how to get Festool hose to connect to this?

I'm not sure, but he mentions buying some clear flexible tubing and some hose clamps. It's been about 5 months since Tom was last on the forum but if you click on his profile, he published his email address. I'd recommend trying to contact him. He can probably help you out.

I'm sure other members would appreciate knowing what you find out.

Wish I was more help...

I purchased these from the shop vac site a few years ago as a full kit. HD carried the same kit with the Ridgid brand. Not sure if these fit the festool Y.

Hi,

I have a similar 2.5 " blast gate (from Woodcraft I think). On mine the Festool hose fits into it perfectly (as well as a regular shop vac hose). And it has the same OD as the Festool 'Y'.  A very neat adapter could be made from the end of an extra shop vac hose or by cutting the end off a regular shop vac cleaning tube  (wand). You only need a short piece about 2" long to connect them.

Then just a short piece of wire screwed , taped , or inserted with the fitting to jump the anti-static over the blast gate.

I got a pair of the Shop-Vac blast gates blast gates from Shop-Vac. They are made to connect to residential central vacuum PVC pipe. The one side is a perfect female socket for a Festool vacuum hose. BUT the other male side is too small for the Festool Y. You need to add a central vac coupling then you can get a tight fit, as the Festool Y is tapered on the inside.

The Shop-vac blast gates are 6 dollars compared to the Festool blast gates at 50 dollars. I had the coupling so I do not remember what they cost, most likely a dollar or two.

Simple solution that works great. They are also a lot smaller then the Festool blast gates.
