FOUND PHONE!!!!!
Well, not quite. So far this job has cost me a new watch strap and a new phone. I put the watch in a safe place (in the garage) and then knocked it off the safe place and broke the strap. I put my phone on a block of wood on the floor then dropped the air powered stapler on it from the roof, the screen looks like it's taken a shot from an air gun.
Anyway...on with the build.
The blanket insulation is a royal pain in the

It's not uniform width, or thickness. Taping all the joints rapidly becomes old. It takes ages to put up.

Anyone remember the Crystal Maze?

It's not the easiest thing to cut. I'm using my mothering laws old dress making scissors, and they just about cope. Using a stanley knife is no good, it won't cut all the way through unless you press it very hard against a cutting board. I 3D printed a cutting tool which works well.

You're supposed to tape every joint with 75mm foil tape. It's very time consuming trying to seal around joists that go through the insulation. So I gave up, and added timber blocks to the joists so i could staple the insulation to it and then use foam (lots of foam) to fill in any other small holes. Much faster.

It's also difficult to drive screws or drill bits through the insulation. The internal layers wrap themselves around the screw or drill and stop it dead.

I'll post some more about how i got round this when I get to needing to drill through it again. It's taking me so long to put this stuff up I'm focusing on getting the job finished instead of taking photos.
(oh, and this afternoon I fired a 14mm staple into my leg, that was the icing on the cake for this job)
More to come
