BOOM ARM FIX

I got my aluminum coupler today...thanks, Bob. Fits great, but the bolt that stops the booms left/right movement seems to be shorter than the threaded hole. In order for the boom to swing smoothly, the bolt can't be tightened down...it must remain loose. With the "plastic" coupler, you could tighten the bold down, but there was still enough space between the head of the bold and the side of the arm tube to allow smooth swinging.

Now that it's on my CT33, the vac is much less mobile.
What has worked for me is to leave off the X braces and adjust the outriggers to just above the top of the front casters. This leaves the casters free to turn and when outriggers are needed you can adjust and slide them down.
This is the way mine is set up and it works well.

Regards,

Dan.

I just removed the bolt - gives the boom arm 360 degree freedom.  With the outriggers its stable all the way round.  That way I position it between my cutting table and the MFT

Got mine last week - problem solved. Thanks Bob and Festool for being proactive in implementing this fix, I'm impressed.
