I've read that a few people have the Bosch and seem to like them. Has anyone had the chance to compare the Wixey to the Bosch? Any differences (other than cost)? If you don't know the products I mean, check them out:

I'm ready to jump at one or the other, and I'm never any place where I can see them. Love to hear from the group.

Mike,

I own the earlier version of the Bosch.

I don't leave home with out it.

First time at the meet and greet I have a few things in my hand.

A note book, a tape, the bosch, and a laser range finder.

I had the opportunity to use the wixey at John Lucas shop.

It is accurate and it works.

But, I am going to stick with what I know. ;D

That's not a good enough answer is it?

The bosch is more robust, feels better in the hands, is larger, the new one comes with the extension

and you get what you pay for. That better?

Well,

Das Germans again.

Bosch just came out with one. I don't know spitz about it.

The other company (which should have its own owners group)

is Hilti.

I have a motto, don't feel guilty-buy a hilti.

Chances are ya gonna choke when you find out how much this sucka costs.....

Same story though.  You get what you pay for.

Mike,

One more thing.

The range finder allows me to work alone.

You get to fire the guy who holds the dummy end of the tape and changes the CDs.

If you do metal stud or any basement framing or for that matter any floor to ceiling critical measurement...

well there is just no better way. Figures out sgft in a second, and will sure amaze the HVAC guy

when he comes to sell you more tonnage in AC then you need. Yeah cubic feet too.

The freakin carpet salesman hate me. Ever watch em try to bury two extra feet in every room?

Maybe not out there in honest land, But here? In New Jersey? hahahahahah.

Nothing chokes me anymore. Not after discovering the slippery green slope.

I never can find a price on the Hilti site. Do you need to contact a rep?

Few things you need to do in order to get the price to appear.  1st, go to the Hilti website for USA here:
http://www.us.hilti.com/holus/modules/prcat/prca_main.jsp

Then, select which item you want to get detailed info on, I selected the laser ranger meter, which took me here:
http://www.us.hilti.com/holus/modules/prcat/prca_navigation.jsp?OID=-20276

Then, click on the "add to cart" function and you can see the price, which is $329

I have been using the Stabila LE50 for a while now with very accurate results.

Thanks. I never added it to my cart, I wasn't ready to buy it yet. I still feel guilty even though Per says otherwise.  ;D ;D ;D
