Budding carpenters.

Lol

My boys were in my shop the other day the youngest who's 8 goes mad hammering screws into anything he can get hold of, I must teach him to use a screwdriver ;D :D

Lol my little one is 7 and has a fair understanding of how to use the screwdriver. She learned a good lesson as well this evening. She put her finger too close to her saw (which really cuts wood) and cut her finger a bit.

Monkey see monkey do

I got my 7 year old son one of the wood project kits for kids from Lowes, and he liked the hammer and screwdriver, then he goes and grabs the saw, not super sharp and he starts trying to saw his arm.  I wigged out and grabbed the saw, then his belt loops and he hasn't seen the kit since.  I haven't let him around my tools since.

I bet he got the fright of his life when the blood started coming out  [scared]

Luckily I caught him right before blood was drawn, but he had a nice red line and I am sure his ears were bleeding!!!

I once saw an old farmer hammerings screws in when assembling a fence for his horses. I asked him why and he replied to me with a smile on his face: "well...I noticed it's a freakin lot easier to hammer in screws than screwing in nails!"  [blink]

I didn't comment further on that.  [big grin]

Kind regards
Henrik
