..So I am finally planned to sand this down. And re-stain these handrails. (spindles can wait)
Now that I have the RO90 (thanks to your advice), I hope I am ready to do this.
Forgive my ignorance, but what does stacking interface pads mean? (I am picturing two interface pads stacking on top of each other?).
I plan to run to my dealer tomorrow to buy what I need to get this party started.
I was planning on sanding with 150 grit Granat (I was worried that 80 grit may be too aggressive in my hands).
Once it was sanded, I was planning to use a wipe on gel (something like General Finishes), which I assume I will need to wipe on poly after staining. (I am thinking the gel route to eliminate possible brush strokes).
I am very open to suggestions as finishing is over my head. (I am still confused if I would do rotex mode in this application, or if random orbit with a light touch and interface pad(s). Thanks in advance for your help.
See a close-up that shows the contour.

Actually, RO90 with stacked interface pads would be pretty sweet on those.
