Can you bend a Vecturo blade to 90deg successfully?

Hey folks. I'm still alive. Just busy with my other new hobby "sailing".

I need to do a small repair in a tight space and the Vecturo is the right tool for that.

Just need the blade bend to a right angle to make it work.

Tried yesterday and snapped of a blade (bi-metal which must have been the problem).

Would heating the blade work? Try a non bimetal blade instead?

Anyone done this successfully?

The Imperial Blades IBOA391 bi-metal 90° multi-tool blade features a 2″ blade width, 18 TPI, and 1″ max cutting depth.

The Imperial blade will not work with the Vecturo.  But you may be able to use the Fein 35222952050 adapter with the blade.  The adapter is available at Toolnut.

Hope this helps.

Eric

Edit:  Found the blade on Amazon

I'm not sure what your task is but Fein makes right angled blades for window repair.  They are more for caulk removal however.https://beavertools.com/fein  Beaver seems to carry every item made for Fein oscillating tools.

Maybe I'm being stupid here, but wouldn't the above blade or bending a normal blade to 90 degrees just result in the oscillation plane going from linear and inline with the blades, to an elliptical/arc shaped movement that would be be inefficient at cutting and difficult to control, not to mention imprecise?

You are right I think but in my case it is not about precision but scraping a layer of wood off fiberglass...

Bending - Heating - Bending - Heating might work, but the heating will probably have negative consequences for the teeth.

Got these and it works with the Vecturo:

Also as to the cutting arc it is a minimal linear displacement at both side ends of the cutting blade.
