Can't get my TS55 REQ to be square on track

Hello,

I've been noticing that my 45 miters don't line up at all when cross cutting with my track saw. So I decided to take the house off to check for square and adjust if need be. When on track I was at 89.1* when referencing my MFT top. I loosened the adjustment screw fully but this only got me to 89.7*.

But when I put the track saw on the top directly - not on the track - I'm getting a perfect 90*.

I tried this with both my tracks with similar results. They both change the angle of the blade in reference to my MFT top.

Here are comparaison pictures. Anything I'm missing ? Thanks in advance !

Ideally the guide rail is absolutely parallel to the bottom of the saw but the bottom of the guide rail consists of soft stuff so there is no guarantee.

Because of that soft stuff you need to avoid applying much downward pressure on the saw as you push it along the rail, and the pressure needs to be consistent. If you have that down and your cuts are still not square then adjust the bevel.

First you need to determine exactly how far off 90* the actual cut piece is, a bit of a process in itself.
Then you can adjust the saw.

You don’t have to use the magnets to secure the inclinometer to the saw, just use a lightweight clamp to hold it on the housing.

It’s not easy to make and resister very fine adjustments on the saw so I also secure a straight foot long stick to the saw housing so I can see those fine movements. At a foot above the pivot point 1/10th degree is about 3/32” (from memory) so I find it easier to see what’s happening.

If both tracks are doing this, I'd at least verify that the sole plate rests on both green strips - and aren't resting on a worn down bevelled cam set.

Thanks for the tips.

I'll test it out thanks !
