Did you end up getting this calibrated?
My Kapex has never been "spot on" and I've just lived with it, wish I just sent it back and got it replaced right from the get go, but thought it was probably just me and the way I was pulling the handle down or putting too much pressure one way or the other.
I've read Rick Christophersons manual on the Kapex , but I never knew one could move the mitre gauge back or forwards, only side to side. That may be what I need to do also.
I'm still also trying to get my bevel gauge right, I find it nearly impossible to loosen the nuts just enough to effect movement without the whole head tilting before I can get to tighten it in position. Frustrating. I'm gonna try again sometime over the weekend and see if I can get my mitres and bevels better.
Torx 20 is loose but works without stripping just be careful, don't know why its not a tight fit there but 25 is too big.
My advice to anyone who is going to get a Kapex is check it thoroughly as soon as possible and if not acceptable out of the box, ring Festool. I was too shy and figured I simply needed to learn how to use it correctly.
