This post is a answer to some problems mentioned in another post:
http://festoolownersgroup.com/festool-tool-problems/carvex-issues/

I've got a call from Festool in which they explained the first production run has problems with the guide for the sawblade, especially with a high pendulum movement (settings 2 and 3) and in tight curves. The saw tends to leave the guide from time to time.

The cause is a leafspring in this saw guide. These are a little to soft, and are updated in the newer production runs. They said I can have it replaced, or I could take it out, bend it a little and this also should solve the problem. Also they recommended to keep the pendulum movement at setting 0 for very fine work and a little bit of WD40 in the saw guide from time to time...

Bellow you can find a short description on how to remove this spring and how to put is back...

The spring in question is shown in red.

Pull it out in the direction of the arrow by grabbing it at the top.

Bend the spring slightly (make it a bit straighter) by pressing into the directions of the arrows.

The most tricky part: Put it back in! Put it under the saw guide (shortest part face to you) with the bend facing towards the front of the machine.

Now just pull it towards you until the bend is around the axis as shown in the last picture.

Sorry just thought saves using pliers! You can do it with just one handed  but thanks for the info about bending the spring I just had a look 10 minutes ago and bent my spring like you showed so its straighter so it pushes harder now I will have to test it 2moro see if its improved.

For removing I have removed mine like I showed on the video pot luck really I just looked at it and thought what happens if I push it like so and it just popped out and same putting it back in simply  feed it over and push it with your finger from the other side and it pops back.

Removing

Simply using something narrow (jigsaw blade always on hand with a jigsaw lol) Push the spring leaf
