Carvex blade movement

Can somebody take a look at a carvex and tell me if it is possible to move the blade (and blade-lock housing) front and back 1/4" or so when the tool is off? My blade is locked in normally, but in use, the whole thing flops forward and back like a fish, regardless of orbital setting. (I kinda hate this tool) Maybe I just have a bad one or something is broken.

Have you adjusted the allen screw on the blade guide - tighten fully and back off 1/4 turn?

Yes. It moves around a bit, but still cuts good. I can move my blade 1/4 inch or so regardless of orbital position.

Sorry, I was referencing the side to side clearance on your blade.  There is an allen screw you can adjust that closes on the side of the blade.  You have to remove the base to get to it.

Mine do the same. Also thought some thing was wrong. Was going to bring it to a dealer next time Im in the states.
But cuts ok, so haven't done anything about it.

Hope someone can bring clarity in the issue.

I haven't used a Carvex, so I can't say specifically for that jigsaw, but jigsaws with orbital action like the carvex usually have a bit of play in the plunger mechanism, that can allow you to push the blade forward pretty easily with a finger, especially once the saw gets "btoken in".  The forward and backward play is usually easier on the higher orbit settings, and lower on the lower orbit settings. The movement isn't completely lose, but a but springy.
