Ok well I jumped before looking, yes I am a guy so yes this is the norm for me.
I just bought the festool 300 barrel jig saw, now I see there are many complaints with it and festool has already released a new version (Carvex) to the rest of the world.
2 questions
1: Should I just keep my new 300 and be happy with it... Note I have not used it yet so I don't know if I am happy yet.
2: Is there a release date set or "anticipated" yet for the new Carvex for us were in the great US of A.

Thanks.
Pete

Pete,

First, all of our tools come with a 30-day, no-hassle, money-back guarantee. You've got time to try it to see if you like it.

Second, the Carvex has been scheduled for release on or around June of this year. It's worth noting that the 300-series Trion models will remain part of our offerings and will not be discontinued.

Being that the Trion will be staying and not replaced by the Carvex, is it save to assume that the cost of the Carvex will be more? any idea or the cost difference?

Thanks
Pete

To give you an indication, in Europe the CARVEX cost: EUR 381,15 and the TRION EUR 298,87.

A few months before the release of the CARVEX, the TRION went down in price, no idea wether this will happen in the US.

greetz,

Philippe

Well... I guess I will go ahead and keep it. At worst I could always get the Carvex also and keep the Trion in the trailer.

Thanks
Pete

I had the PS300 Trion and yeah it was a good jigsaw but there were issues with it, lack of visibility, etc.

I sold it for a good price and picked up a Carvex and there is a world of difference. When it was first released in Europe there were some teething issues but they have been resolved now.

The Carvex does have an additional accesories systainer which I have resisted so far  [unsure], but it is needed to do all the extra tricks with the additional bases.

My advice having owned both is hang on in there, the Carvex is worth it!!
