...so I guess I screwed up the offerings for 2016, meeting the guys last year and giving my input. Don't be too angry about your Festool sock changer and the wicker systainers.
ThomasC said:It's my understanding that the corded D-handle Carvex will have a variable speed trigger. Is this correct? From what I've read so far, it's the only one of the fleet that offers this. The lack of a variable speed trigger is what has kept me from buying a Festool jigsaw in the past. I know they have variable speed - on a dial - but I'm partial to the trigger. Can anyone verify this? I'll be on Tom's pre-order list if this is true.

Thanks for the quick reply. I was just reading another post that Shane had made regarding this issue. He verified that the D-handle has a variable speed trigger, while the barrel grip does not. Just like you said. You were paying attention.
Thanks,
TC

Ok, that's good and least memory is still intact!

One thing I did notice is that the dust extraction connect will NOT adapt to the angle base. The angle base is awesome however...it's a gear driven split flap that adjusts from 0-45 degrees equally between the two flaps! The strobe led is fantastic as well as the "A" automatic speed selector!

Bob Marino said:Ok, guys. Carvex pricing is out!!!
461466, PS 400, $350
461472, PSB 400, $350
497709, Carvex base accessort kit, $200
I just saw it now at the Festool roadshow and to say it's incredible is not to say enough. It's amazing!
Available June 1st. I'll have it on my website soon for pre-order.

I was thinking it would be much more...I was just about to buy a Trion, looks as if I will be waiting now. Why would someone buy the Trion over the Carvex at a $40.00 diff?? Will the price on the Trion be going down?

Thanks for the clarification on the speed dial Shane and Chris. Having the dial would work perfectly and the automatic speed dial sounds interesting. I noticed the amps is a little lower between the Trion and the Carvex. I assume it is due to the efficiency of the brushless motor. Any other major power differences between the two?
