CDD 12 Slipping

I tried to get one last turn on a big screw with my trusty old Festool CDD 12 , and it suddenly started slipping, even though it was on the drill setting.

Now it won't even sink a moderate sized screw without slipping. And it doesn't sound very healthy.

Have I killed it?

Sounds like some of the gears may be striped, from what i can remember the motor is in the handle and getting that power from vertical to horizontal takes a few gears. I wonder if Festool still have spares for the CDD. I had to just recently put my CDD 12FX to rest because I cant get new batteries for it and the repacked batteries I have are falling to peices. They have been repacked at least 5 times.
