Ok, being a newby to the domino (still in the box), how do you center the domino on a line? Let's say I'm building sone shelves and I want to place a domino centered on the line where the center of the shelf will be located, which may be 2 feet from the end of the vertical board. I hope this makes sense.  — Mark

If you do a search on the forum, you'll find a few threads on the topic. The Domino has center lines referenced on the sides. So, if you scribe a mark, you can align to these. It's 10mm from the base. So, you could also scribe a line 10mm from your center line and then clamp a board across your piece of material and just reference from the base.

Thanks for the tip. Tried search again and got some hits. I must have spelled something wrong the first time.

I keep forgetting about the reference marks that Shane pointed out. It's a good tip. For doing something like shelves, you may want to consider not trying to center on a line, but to use the Domino base as your reference from the edges of the shelf and sides. This will be less persnickety for aligning multiple tenons. This is described in the supplemental manual in more detail.

Oh yeah, and the Domino XL has a center line mark in the casting as well. It was in the vertical orientation when this photo was taken. Thanks, Rick, for those tips too.
