Hey guys,

Does anyone have any pointers on how to grind down standard 1/4" hex bits to fit the Centrotec chuck? And with that, has anyone had success grinding down their Centrotec bits to also fit standard 1/4" chucks in Impact Drivers? Or, is grinding your Centrotec bits to also fit standards chucks not possible or smart.

I searched the forum because I thought I saw a post like this before but I could not find it. Thanks in advance for all comments!

Centrotec bits will already fit in a standard bit holder. They just won't lock.

Well I don't have a drill press at home but I do at work. I recall seeing someone use their drill in the same way as Half Inch Shy used his drill press. I'll have to try that.

Centrotec bits are 1/4" shaft ball-detent bits with the corners abbreviated and the ball-detent farther from the base of the bit so the bit can engage in the output shaft of the drill. As was already stated, they work in any 1/4" drive scenario I've run across.

However, they are not made for impact...
