Centrotec nut drivers?

I love Centrotec. But... the weakness of the system is the lack of comprehensive driver bits.

Is anyone aware of availability of Centrotec nut drivers?

(yes, I know I can use the 1/4" adapter, but then what's the point of the Centrotec system?)

Here in Europe there is a 1/4'' socket adapter 495131 and a 3/8'' adapter 495133.

[member=3349]htroberts[/member] - In a few months Festool will be releasing an updated (rebranded Wera Rapidaptor) Centrotec-shafted locking bit holder, an update to the disappointing-to-some BHS 65 CE, that's apparently actually going to be able to lock pretty much any wire detent bit out there into the holder. The problem with the existing BHS 65 is that only some wire detent bits by some manufacturers are compatible (and there's no official list available anywhere to narrow things down). So, assuming the new version works as pre-advertised, you could pick up a set of wire detent nut driver bits like the set I bought and you'll essentially end up with a decent set of Centrotec nut drivers. I'm really hoping that the improved locking bit holder is as widely compatible as its being made out to be, since I already have the aforementioned nut driver set which I purchased expressly to work in conjunction with the BHS65 CE only to find that they don't actually lock into that holder. We'll see.

There are plenty of wire detent nut drivers out there if you do the looking.
However, in a pinch, the Eccentric chuck’s (offset) bit holder happens to randomly be a ball dentent mechanism on a drill/driver system that is (otherwise) specifcally adverse to power bits.  I literally, to this day, have Centrotec, wire dentent and ball detent driver bits (all three) in my T18’s Systainer.

You nailed it. Love the system but still cannot rely on only centrotec. Worse, @ $12 a whack for the basic 4" driver bits I'm reluctant to use them.

FWIW, so far the only Non-Festool alternatives I've found are the Atlas bits from Toolnut, Snappy's drill adapters and some items @ Axminster.

Glad to hear about the Wera Rapidaptor centrotec compatible offering soon. I have used the Wera Rapidaptor stuff a long time in my Makita drills. Getting real close to relying on my Festool drills only.

Hi!

personally, I'd buy a couple of CE nut drivers in a heartbeat if they were available.

One thing to take into consideration: while I see them constantly being used by electricians, HVAC specialists, (and other trades) in North America and parts of Oceania - both with regular drill/drivers and impacts - I have yet to see them being used in Germany to that very same extent. My guess, it would be a very slow seller around here, except for those already available small nut drivers for use with the depth stop chuck.

It's another product that could be made for/ made available to specific/exclusive markets like North America and Oceania.

I think its one of those topics were Festool could improve it's stand. Same goes for the imperial drill bits, square drive bits, (...).
