Change to Domino switch...

The only thing I find annoying about the domino switch is the direction you have to push it to turn it on. During normal operation with the fence this is not an issue. But when registering the domino against a board, say, with it sitting vertical, there is too much of a tendency for the tool to move forward (and possible start cutting) before you're ready to make the plunge. It's not natural to grab it like you would when horizontal.

Might be better if the switch moved backwards (or sideways) to start?

Agreed, in this situation, I usually start it before lining it up. Far from ideal. I would prefer a trigger as on a drill or a button.

The switches on portable power tools are usually a weak link -- I tend to turn my Domino on & leave it on from start to finish of a series of mortises, even laying the tool down in between mortises.  Of course brushes are the next weak link...  [unsure]

Like Ron, I tend to turn mine on and leave it on until I complete a series of mortises, so it's on while I'm lining up marks.

Don't shout at me for my geeky-ness ... often I find myself balanced working with two hands and would like a remote (bluetooth maybe) control ... could be a foot pedal, maybe something actuated by bite pressure, to act on the "active" tool.

This could be an inline module for the plug-it system or a "special" plug-it cable. FESTOOL - I want royalties !!!

I like the foot pedal idea. Would be great if it had a foot-stomp-able plunger switch that would turn the vac on, but not power the tool, too. Why?

Show of hands... How many of you have pulled the hose off of a tool, and turned the tool on to vac up some dust or crumbs... Hose in one hand, spinning router in the other?

Stomp switch would let me (us? Anyone? Anyone?) selectively do this without waving a powered up router around while my attention was elsewhere... And stomp the switch again to power up the tool, too.

Stomp switch located so you don 't accidentally hit it while using the pedal. Having a tool cut out mid-cut would blow.
