Any suggestions (new or used) for a relatively inexpensive table saw with a riving knife and a big enough table to handle a decent crosscutting sled?

There is no comparison with those two saws, that Grizzly beats the Delta in every aspect, except price.....

That Grizzly looks very nice for the price.  It's far superior to anything you'll get at Lowes or Home Depot.  Of coarse if you're willing to go used you might find a better saw locally.

Check out industrial suppliers for used machines.  Often there are very nice used Delta and Powermatic saws for the price of new.  Ebay also has many used industrial quality machines available.  I bought my Powermatic after watching it for at least 4 years on Amazon.  One day it showed up for sale at $1850.00 and was delivered by a drop trailer 3' from my shop door.  Amazon is a funny site.  I also looked at 7 1/2hp air compressors for a few years and almost bought a PC from Grizzly when they had them for $1500.  I got the same compressor from Amazon by watching it a couple years for $1250.00, again delivered by drop truck.  Same deal with a Makita 12" slider, couldn't really justify the $650.00 tariff as I have a 6 1/2" Hitachi slider that I bought when they first came out.  $450.00 from Amazon...next day it was back up to $650.00.  Know what you want and be patient!

I agree with the idea of looking at a used Delta Unisaw or a used Powermatic.

I traded in a very well maintained and nearly flawless Delta Unisaw when I bought my Sawstop. If I were looking at either the Unisaw or the Powermatic, I'd ask about the availability of spare parts. I've had issues finding parts for some of my older Delta power tools.

We have an excellent dealer in new and used power tools, Redmond, in the Atlanta area.

I think the fit and finish of the older saws is often much better than the new stuff coming out of China.
