About 2 years ago I purchased a MIDI I HEPA from the Recon site for $480. It actually appeared to be new...certainly used very little to not used at all.
The new anti static hose that's offered on the CT 15 (which is a good deal at $419) appears to be the same style as the hose on the CT 36 AC. If that's the case, I absolutely love that hose as it doesn't kink, is extremely flexible and is super light weight.
If that works for you, wait around and a CT 15 will come up on the Recon site for about $340. A CT 15 or 25 will pop up on the Recon site every month or so.
It is a differet hose unfortunately.
The one shipping (in US version of) CT 36 AC and with the "Planex" versions in Europe is a different one. It is a special flexible and light one for PLANEX use.
The CT15 and CT 25 hoses are the same as the "old" grey ones, just anti-static.
@OP:
Not cheapest way, but here is my comment:
A) If you already have the "big" CT26/36 series vacs (or 22/33/44), get the CT Midi as the small/transportable one to complement them.
B) If you already have a CT Mini/Midi series vac, do look at a CT 26 and "downgrade" your current Midi for portable/home use in turn.
Both way you get the best value as you would upgrade your whole stack. Even if not the smallest outlay.
As for Bluetooth:
If you do not have it on any vac now, then you want it without knowing it. Sure, it makes little sense on a dedicated workstation like a KAPEX use case, but it IS a godsend on the "go-to" vac used for small cleanups etc. It is also irresistible for TSO in a home use case.
The thing is, having BT available actually changes your workflow - increasing efficiency measurably. Several steps can be skipped. One just stops pre-empting to turn on the vac, trying to avoid cleaning up a small thing etc. etc. So it may be true you do not need it in your current worflow - because
you are already setup in a way to compensate for the lack of a remote vac startup. But that compensation is not for free (in time).
How I know .. I borrowed my 27/32 hose to a friend as he needed multiple hoses to connect and left the remote on it .. oh boy how did I notice the lack of efficiency immediately! Everything /what before getting a CT 36 was normal/ now seemed such a slow chore suddenly. I imemdiately started changing the workflow "back" to accomodate the lack of a quick vac startup ...
