This was a very challenging project to design and install for the existing space but in the end turned a unused dormer into a very usable space.  The homeowner is the book keeper for the family business and required over 12' of file storage space.  I used full extension drawer glides and a wide desk top surface to meet this target.  We also included hidden pencil drawers.  The top is solid cherry.  Feel free to ask any specific questions regarding this project.

Do you mean 12' linear feet, or a total of 12' in depth divided between all the drawers?

How wide is it? It looks like it would be difficult to reach over it to put stuff on those shelves on the right hand side.

The top looks good

A very nice looking piece of work. I too would like to know what wood you used for the bases.

Did you use any stains? What finish did you use?

Wonderful job.  I like how you followed the ceiling angles and connected the two parts.  Really an eye catcher with the natural cherry and black contrast.

These are the kind of details that turn a houses into a home and create a sense of purpose.  Looks like a good client!

this looks great!!! What material did you use for the base cabinets? doors?

Thanks.  Base cabinets are cabinet grade birch ply with solid poplar for raised panel drawer fronts and side panels.  Drawer boxes are prefinished 1/2 birch ply.

Thanks.  I left over 1 inch of offset on the side and angled face frames to allow for scribing to the wall and ceiling, this was a very time consuming install.

Those are wise words, when I think of my favorite projects they start with good clients!

Thanks, it's poplar wood, with prefiinshed birch ply for drawer boxes - Oil based finish for cabinets

Mr Fulton (Ron?)

What did you use to color the poplar?

(for the Brits reading this...I asked what he used to colour the poplar - I am multi-lingual!)
