Cherry Chest of Drawers

Hey Jim, you said you used General Arm-R-Seal wipe on finish, was that the gel satin finish? Got a picture of the can maybe?

hmmmm.  This looks conspicuously like Norm's router table cabinet... albeit a lot nicer!

[member=39086]JBag09[/member] , no gel stain,  I used the oil and urethene top coat in semi-gloss.  I really love it.  And I struggle with my finishing.

[member=396]HowardH[/member] ,  Ha!  Thanks, I never thought about that until now.  I actually built Norm's router table so maybe that's where I came up with it.

Thanks, didn't realize you could use that as a rub on finish. I have only used the gel poly, because like you said about struggling with finishing. I prefer to use a wipe on so I get NO runs. Thanks again

Nice work, I've been making one from reclaimed mahogany for over a year now but my wife went to ikea behind my back so no rush

I made some drawer dividers for the jewelry drawers out of ambrosia maple.  My bride then requested I line the bottoms with velvet to match the ring band that is in the back of the drawer in the top pic.  I finally got around to doing that this afternoon and I ended up cutting some 1/4" plywood to fit the drawer bottom then wrapped it with navy velvet and just laid it in place.  And who says I never finish my projects?  [tongue]

Lovely!  Did you join the dividers to the drawer or did you lay them in?  I am trying to decide how to design something like that and wondered what was better.

I cut them a hair shy of the width and length and just laid them in.  There is zero jostling when the drawers open and close, which was a concern.  I'm happy.  Thanks
