Guys I like the look of the Kapex with the stand & support wings, but my big Makita is still working fine so I can't justify spending £1500.00 on a new one.

Has anyone managed to construct a similar support system that is light & easy to connect as the Kapex version, preferably in aluminium?

I have a bench that was supplied with the saw & thinking of mounting some wheels so easy to drag around, because the Mak is a heavy saw.

Thanks for your input [smile]

Looks like a nice bit of kit but quite bulky for site use, looks good quality but can't see any UK distributors stocking it on their websites, surprised at the issues with the Kapex on here over the last few days, I can't comment as have never used one.

The sawhelper stands haven't been produced in several years.  Anyone looking for one would have to purchase used.  I wonder how many of those made it overseas to start with.

The Fastcap stand will work with the Kapex, but it is big and heavy.  I think that Dave might have tested one out.

I have made wings like that for my Kapex,by using my crown stops.
I just attached a piece of 1/2" ply to the crown stop with 1/4" x 1"w  metal brackets. They are about 40" long.
For now i use a bosch stand and use the extension arm to support the wings i made.
I also dado a piece of 3/4" x 1.5" poplar and glue it on the back edges of the 1/2" ply to keep it from bowing.
