Hey guys I'm new to the FOG. I've been lurking for a while but this is my first post.

I'm a remodel contractor. A trim guy and I teamed up to complete this poplar library for our church.

Be gentle :)

That was no easy task fitting everything in with all those angles.  Very well done!  Thanks for posting.

How did you put the drawers together and what slides did you use?  Did you use the LR 32 system for the shelves?

Thanks, and

[welcome] to the FOG!

Mike A.

Nice!

Looks like you need to make a nice matching ladder [wink]

Welcome to the forum!  [smile]

Did you do that curved / arch  panel end piece? Is It a support for a beam I the ceiling or decorative?

I am also interested to know what you used for stain and finish?

Seth

mike_aa, The drawers are 1/2" baltic with rabbeted half blind corners(If I'm describing that right) and side mount self close slides

I wish we had the LR 32 system. Life would have been a lot easier. The holes were drilled using the Rockler jig.

Kev, A matching ladder! Don't encourage them volunteer labor you know ;)

SRSemenza, The post/support is structural to the building. I believe there are 8 pair that hold the roof. It appears to be laminated Fir but that's anybody's guess.

The stain is an oil from Sherwin Williams. We sprayed everything but the top with Pre-cat off site. The top was built and stained in place, then three coats of "High Performance" from General Finishes was applied.(not a fan)

Thanks everybody!

Very nice work...you seemed to match the color very closely to the other trim/doors in the building. I also like the hidden finger pulls on the drawers. [big grin]

Welcome to the FOG! That's really beautiful work. Those angles couldn't have been easy. Please share more work with us as you do it!

Looks great, very clean with some tough angles. If I could only use one wood I think it would be poplar - beautiful to work with and takes stain very well.
