Clamp FSZ300 and 20mm MFT hole and sheet cutting table?

I can just about squeeze these clamps through my homemade MFT top, it 36mm thick. Its a bit of a squeeze thou, is the "real" MFT top a little thinner and therefore easier to hook it through?

My second questions is what do people recommend for sheet cutting tables, I've got this at the moment:

Its made from 12mm ply and not really 100% stable.

what material is it that is 36mm thick? I used 18mm mdf for my 8x4 mft type top as is the origonal.  a 36mm top sounds heavy for a mobile set up as pictured

Oh that's not the home made MFT, this is:

Its 2 layers of 18mm laminated together. Other picture is the sheet cutting table.
