Hi there,

Finished my clamp rack and thought I'd get some feedback on it.

Clamp Rack on Flickr

Construction was pretty simple with the dados for the slots being cut on my table saw, and the wood cut on my mitre saw. Butt-joints pre-drilled holes for screws then counter-sunk. Hinges for opening each section. Magnetic latches to make sure the sections don't swing open.

Section 1 is 36" tall, section 2 is 24" tall, and section 3 is 12" tall which allows me to segregate my clamps by size - 36" or longer in section 1, 18"-31" in section 2, 6"-12" in section 3.

Design was based on this article I found. Link

Didn't come out great but it is better than my usual attempts so I'm happy overall.

Thanks for reading.

It came out really nice.
I think before you add too many more clamps you might want to add the horizontal brace in the linked example or you'll find that the racks might start to, um...rack.

I like it ill be making one my self I think in the near future.

+1 on adding more support/brace

Very ingenious, but as noted i would add horizontal supports in the frames like the example has, otherwise i wouldn't be surprised that it breaks when fully loaded!

Thanks for reading guys, and thanks for the comments about the bracing. I see that I missed the bracing in the original design. [huh]  I need to paint those touched up areas on that wall so when I take the rack down I'll add the bracing. Thanks again  [smile]
