If you take a piece of wood that has a rebate on the end, perhaps to half the thickness of the wood and maybe 10-20 mm in width. Position the rebate over the small piece of stock to be cut. Use either the clamp that comes with the Kapex or one of the MFT clamps to then push down on the rebated piece of wood which then holds the small piece in place. You may need to use a clamping piece on both sides. I am sorry not to have a photograph but I have done an awful sketch.

I think you just need to be careful with that set up , that the end opposite the clamp doesn't lift.

I agree and so one needs to judge whether to have the clamping on both sides.
