Check out this thread.  ----  "My new Kapex, thoughts so far"
Sorry I don't know how to make it a "link." Just use the search tool and you'll find it. Tom has a great solution... photos and all.

Check out Peter's (stone message) review of Bessey clamps the toggle clamp might be useful.

Thank you Bellchippy, the Bessey toggle clamps work well. But, if you cannot get these and need to improvise then...

If you take a piece of wood that has a rebate on the end, perhaps to half the thickness of the wood and maybe 10-20 mm in width. Position the rebate over the small piece of stock to be cut. Use either the clamp that comes with the Kapex or one of the MFT clamps to then push down on the rebated piece of wood which then holds the small piece in place. You may need to use a clamping piece on both sides. I am sorry not to have a photograph but I have done an awful sketch.

I think you just need to be careful with that set up  , that the end opposite the clamp doesn't lift.

I agree and so one needs to judge whether to have the clamping on both sides.

Oops, missed that line.

Then I guess just be careful that both pieces don't lift when the cut is completed or nearly completed.

Hot melt glue right to the table, rubbing alcohol dissolves the glue when you need to separate it from the bed.

I've also Domino'd pieces together to make a handle to do some unusual cuts.

One other thing, if there are many small parts to cut, make a fixture to hold them.
