Clamping kit from Festool

Festool 201311 SYS-MFT FX Clamping Systainer Set

[attachimg=1]

This one? Yes US dealers will have them, a major dealer I spoke with told me Festool was only allowing them to buy TEN sets! So you might want to check with your preferred dealer sooner vs later if you want one.

Veritas also makes a nice set at the same price, slightly different contents, available through Lee Valley

Its a great little set I secured 1 here.
My local advised these were a limited addition run and only a couple. I believe they were released a little while ago so ring around and jump on it if desired and can find one

Ya, rumored to be released mid November in the US, so the timing is right. And then there's the rumor about the SysLite Duo shelves option...

I actually purchased my Festool clamp set before I had an MFT.  I didn't want to miss out on it because it's a bit of a no-brainer as far as I'm concerned.  It opens up a lot more possibility for usefulness of the table, especially when needing to clamp odd shaped pieces for machining or finishing.  Expensive, but I'm glad I bought one.

I'm having a difficult time understanding the logic behind making this set a limited edition.

My guess is that Veritas supplied the dogs and the flat bars & are unwilling to produce more than a limited run (mind that they sell those themselves). I already own all of the items in this set, so I'll let it slide. : )

I don't see anything special in that kit. It will save you less than 10% vs buying everything separately. And when you buy separately you actually get what you need (i. e. minus the box and minus 1 planing stop).
There is not much use for a planing stop for MFT, considering how flimsy it (MFT) is, not to mention 2. Even for a solid bench why would you need 2?

I was lucky enough to buy mine at a healthy discount, so my saving was a lot bigger than that  [big grin]  Plus, anything Festool and limited edition seems to hold its value well, if I decide to sell in future.

Enjoy!
They must've been sent by the slow boat across the big pond - bought mine many months ago here in England  8)

Over in the UK you got them a lot earlier than we did in the USA. They are being released on 12/5. That is the first day you can get one.
