I have to vacuum a newly sanded oak floor to prepare it for staining. Does anyone know if the floor nozzle that comes in the universal cleaning set will work? Will it scratch the floor? The next set up is back ordered so the only other option is the workshop cleaning set and it is $110 more. Any thoughts?

I bought the installer cleaning set initialy and was not happy with the plastic mufti-purpose floor nozzle. After attending a festool class bought the industrial floor nozzle that comes with the workshop cleaning set. Best floor nozzle out there and no regrets works on all surfaces and you can raise and lower it easily to get it at the right height.

Though it isn't the best floor nozzle out there, the one that comes with the Universal Cleaning Kit is perfectly adequate for the task as described, in my opinion.

I've used mine on various floors successfully, cherry, bare concrete, stained & sealed concrete, ceramic tile, marble tile...

With that said, I now have the Industrial Floor Nozzle in my arsenal and prefer it.

Same here, I have the tradesmen/installer set.  The floor nozzle that comes with this set is okay.  I too used the industrial floor nozzle at a Festool class I really like it.  If I had to do over again I'd spring for the Workshop cleaning set.

I initially bought the Compact Cleaning Set which I do use when I'm on a job site, but the Workshop Cleaning Set is so much better in my shop, especially when used with the D36 hose.

I agree. I bought the compact set a month ago and although it "works" its really isn't a very good set.  If using it with the larger hose its about impossible to keep the curved first section attached to the hose. In my opinion the systainer is the best part of the set !

I was so disgruntled with it that I ordered a workshop cleaning set which should arrive this Monday.

I have both cleaning kits, wasn`t impressed with the plastic tubes,i normally use the wide plastic head with the 2 brushes on for wood floors and it`s never made a mark, although you do have to tip it slightly, otherwise you tend to just brush the dust around the room, have never really used that big metal thing with the wheels

I have the big one with the 50mm hose. Set comes in cardboard box and a plastic floor sweeper. Love the floor sweeper but the hose is a little short so I use it with a 36mm hose. The 36 mm hose will fit inside the 50mm tubes. The combination works well and the longer hose is nice. Price is not bad but no systainer.
