Closeout Tools - Reduced Pricing Effective Immediately - US Only

Two thumbs up to Shane and the rest of the Festool team for listening and responding the customers comments. Great job guys.

I had a question from a member about obtaining a hardware kit (angle unit, fence, rail, deflector) for their 1080.  If anyone is interested, the pricing on the hardware kits have been reduced to reflect the difference between the MFT non-basic and MFT basic pricing for the 800 and 1080 tables.  Here are the product numbers and prices.

MFT 1080 Hardware Kit, 494071, $103.50
MFT 800 Hardware Kit, 494070, $103.50

These products can be ordered from your preferred Festool dealer.

Do these kits include the guide rails?

Shane, sorry for my delayed reply, but I just got back from 5 days in Pennsylvania (great WIA Show at Valley Forge).

I came home to a fax from a freight company saying that my tables are sitting in their local warehouse. Thank you so much for jumping all over this, and getting my problem solved. If there's any company out there that tries harder than Festool USA, I don't know which one it could be.

Shane,

Great idea posting that list of discontinued tools.  Do you know off hand if the OF2000 E ships with the 8mm and 1/2 inch collets and the edge guide (as it did in 2005)? If so, that's a great deal.

JF

John,

The OF 2000 E (574216) includes:

- 8mm collet
- 1/2" collet
- edge guide
- systainer

The OF 2000 BASIC (574268) includes:

- only the 1/2" collet
- cardboard box (NO systainer).

Edit: The non-basic version is showing low stock so I would recommend that you act quickly if you are interested.

Shane,

Does OF 2000 E (574216) includes edge guide or not? There is some confusion in your sentences.

Thanks,
Victor

Victor, sorry if the language was confusing.  I modified my post to (hopefully) be more clear.  Yes, the 574216 does include the edge guide.

Does this mean that the MFT tops for the 1080 and 800 are discontinued?

Thanks,
bluecpu

I believe that parts - such as the top - are not effected by the closeout.  If I remember correctly something I heard at the training class - parts are available for either 7 or nine years later.  Don't quote me on that.  I'm sure Festool will clarify.

I am not a Festool employee, but 7 years is correct.

Bob

Yes, Bob is correct.  We continue to stock parts for tools for a minimum of 7 years after they are discontinued.  My fault for not including that in my original post.

For anyone who has a Kapex, is considering a Kapex, or maybe even wants to have a table for their non-Festool CMS, I would like to point out that the Kapex can be used with the MFT 800 (or 1080 for that matter).  The feet of the Kapex sit in the holes in the MFT 800/1080, the clamps can be used to secure the saw to the table in addition to the clamping kit available for the Kapex.  The Kapex extensions have enough adjustment in the legs to compensate for the difference in height between the MFT/3-Kapex and MFT 800/1080 and will work fine.

Note: I would not recommend that anyone choose this option if you plan to use your Kapex in conjunction with MFT/3's on one or both sides.  The height of the work surface on the older tables is not compatible.

You can check availability and pricing on our website.

Here are some photos.

Shane:

That's a great thing to point out... I only recently moved my Kapex from an 800 to the MFT/3 Kapex. The only reason I did that is that I wanted the 800 for a planer.

The first image here is a little deceptive. It makes it look like the 800 with the Kapex is the same height as the MFT/3 in the background. It is shorter.

I just want to make sure that nobody thinks they are the same.

Why is it that I see the RS 400 sander has a discontinued price of $161.50 but I've visited a few dealers websites and it is still priced at $205.00?  Can't I visit my local Festool dealer and buy the sander for the sale price or do I have to order one through my dealer and wait for it to be sent to me?

Thanks,
Tom.

Tom, those websites are probably showing the RTS 400 rather than the RS 400.  The RS is the predecessor to the RTS.  Some dealers may have the RS 400 in stock but it's unlikely.  I suspect most customers will find that their dealer of choice will need to order discontinued items.  The basic difference between the RS and RTS is the counterweight was reshaped to provide slightly better balance and stability.  The discontinued tools still have a 3 year warranty.

Tom,

Are you sure you are looking at RS, NOT RTS, 400'S?

Bob

Will either the MFT1080 or 800 connect to the MFT3 to produce a larger workbench?  I know they are not the same height so these will need to be raised.  But will the connectors slots allign?

JGA.
