CMS Router Adjustment

No, you use the lift. You aren't plunging the router to the turrets so the micro adjust doesn't come into play.

Is the lift that accurate without any kind of fine adjustment?  Do you have to lock/unlock the plunge every time you make a bit height adjustment?  Will there be any leg supports available for the CMS-GE?  If I purchase mine would be non-mobile.

The lift is quite accurate. I suppose you could lock the router but I don't really think it's necessary.

The legs on the GE are pretty stiff already. It isn't the same as the MFT, it's a pretty solid table.

I always lock mine. It is possible for the bit to move up depending on the shape if the router isn't locked.

Most of the time I don't lock mine. I only bother to lock it if I make large series of profiles.
But I do always tie it up with a velcro strap to prevent the router getting lifted out of the CMS spindles position...if you get what I mean.

shown below on the old CMS module, but it should be possible to do it the same way on the new version.

When considering precision and the effort involved here, why not go ahead and lock it.  Makes sense Nigel.

Having come from the use of shapers world, I always lock my CMS, I guess its more habit than concern it might move.
