CMS Router Table & Impact Driver - Available for Pre Order Right Now

The CMS I used in Lebanon had the 3 1/2" CMT panel raising bit in it. The exact same one I use. The bit fits the 2200 just fine. It fit the CMS I used without issue also.

Tom, your memory is better than mine, I'll take your word for it.

We had a conversation with Sedge about the fact his brand new CMT bit was not cutting properly. That will happen when you use the bit on MDF.

It was the use of the panel raising bit that sealed the deal for me.

Interesting, the Festool site says the max is 3 3/8"...are they being conservative?

I just checked CMT's web site, they list the bit as 3 1/2" (I have never measured it). I believe my Sommerfield's are also 3 1/2". I have a few 3 1/4" CMT'S also. All with back cutters.

It clears the bore, not by much, but it clears.

What is the P/N for the tool hanger that mounts on the MFH1000 stool?  Cost?  Available when?

I think that I will be inclined to build an additional drawer or two to fit in the space above the drawer that comes with the stool.

I guess that I asked that wrong -- I'm talking about the entire superstructure that holds the hanger, shelf(s), etc.  I assume the shelves and hangers are all separately priced?

EDIT:  Thanks Peter.
It appears for just under $400. I might do better to build my own using 80/20 extrusions.  I would want mine to be at the back edge of the stool so it could still be used for a stool to sit on instead of centered as the Festool version is.

Without Shane getting bent out of shape, I am surmising that the change in the lift mechanism to chrome plate possibly had something to do with you guys over seas complaining about the lack of smoothness when raising and lowering the OF 2200 in the CMS and having to "help" the router up while elevating it with the hand crank.  --- JUST AN EDUCATED GUESS, NOTHING MORE.

I thought it might be due to friction why it was changed but what made me think twice is the wear factor cus won't the chrome wear away after some use?  Y chrome you see

My CMS lift mechanism is not chrome but I don't necessarily have the same version that will retail here.

Brice,

Guess you better get rid of it.  It has to be disposed of properly.  You have my number.

JMB,

Hard chroming will reduce the wear.  I'm sure Ron Wenner or someone else more knowledgeable can discuss this.
