Is the  European CMS TS 55 R compatable with the USA CMS Router Table Free-Standing Model GE Basic - P00112?

Statement from Festool.

Warning: The Festool CMS System is approved for use with only the OF 1400 and OF 1010 routers in the US and Canadian markets.  It is not approved for use with the OF 2200, nor with any of the CMS modules currently available outside the US and Canadian markets (TS, Jigsaw and sanding modules).  Festool USA does not  endorse the use of these components and will not support them with spare  parts or repairs. The use of anything other than the OF 1400 and OF 1010 routers and their related accessories with the CMS will void the warranty agreement on the entire system for customers within the US and Canada. Festool does not endorse the application or use of any Festool product in any way other than in the manner described in the Festool Instruction Manual. To reduce the risk of serious injury and/or damage to your Festool product, always read, understand and follow all warnings and instructions in your Festool product's Instruction Manual.

So what?  If someone wants to get the plate they are going to.  I really don't think that it not being supported or a warranty from Festool is a determent.

Bit over the top. There's a Festool disclaimer on every thread already.

It might not be a deterrent, but it just as likely could be. We are all different, some more cautious than others. I, personally, wouldn't get one because I have no need for it now, but I would get the belt sander insert for the CMS regardless of support if I had a chance.

They don't have US gov approval for this attachment but it doesn't mean you can't use it. If it's available in Europe it's safe.

Oddly enough, America sometimes has very different ideas from Europe about what's safe and what's not. I'm still baffled about it.

Approval of various CMS inserts is not a USA government function. Rather it is up to UL. Many states require UL approval, as does Festool's product liability insurance.

If you are a DIY who does not have employees using tools and the Festool warranty is not important, then you are free to use any inserts you want.

However, if you are an employer is the State of California then the Labor Safety Orders and your workers comp insurance do not permit employees using tools not listed by UL or some other recognized organization.

As well, that I do not live in the US :)

me too

I just got back from 3.5 months in Sydney, and I can assure you with great certainty that the burgers most definitely are not better in Oz.  :P

We don't serve the good ones to outsiders. Which is what I'm assuming happens in the US too as I found food in my various visits very average. [huh]

Some of the chains actually do have a secret language.

For example IN and Out Burger, one of the more popular ones in So Cal has a secret menu. I would go ask for a 4X3 Animal style.

What that means to them is 4 burger paddies and 3 cheese slices and a special sauce with grilled onions.

if ya ever get to So Cal,

or

Las Vegas

look at the diet program…

Ill hook you up with a burger my friend. Its a staple in the jobsworth family
