Hey all,
I'm in research mode on my first table saw purchase, and would love to hear perspectives on the insert for the CMS table (i.e, CMS-TS-75) versus the CSC SYS 50.
My workspace is quite cramped (i.e., second bedroom, basement, or outside!) so portability and dust collection are important factors. I have a CMS table, so within the Festool ecosystem I could either track down a CMS-TS-75 insert & TS 75, or look at a new CSC SYS 50.
On paper there are a couple obvious pros/cons:
CMS-TS-75 pros:
+ larger table (especially with the CMS outfeed extension & sliding table)
+ deeper depth of cut
+ slightly less expensive (even with purchase of a TS 75)
+ now I have a second track saw
CSC SYS 50 pros:
+ more compact, portable, battery powered
+ easier blade operations (depth, angle, changing blade, removing riving knife)
+ long term parts availability
Appreciate folks thoughts on the pros/cons -- especially re cut quality, accuracy and overall experience. My main reservations with the CMS-TS-75 is that it's technically obsolete, and the design feels a bit MacGuyver-esque.
TIA,
Niall
