Coating a MFT with a finish?

I've tried Osmo Topcoat (hard wax) before, but now I use Timberex oil instead. I love the Osmo on birch ply, but I can't get it right on MDF.

All of my MDF surfaces are oiled (i.e. MFTs, bandsaw outfeed table, Kapex station, router table). The pros are:
- Looks really nice
- Easier to peel of glue
- Wood slides easier on the surface

A little off topic; but treatment with oil is mentioned above.

For my cast iron and steel surfaces, I hit with a couple of shots of WD 40 and rub vigorously.  After a couple of coats rubbed in, I wax and buff (RO 150).  During the months I am not working inside, I scatter a little fine sawdust over the surfaces.  I have an old table saw out in my barn that is rusting away.  The table top has only just started to rust after sitting idle for however long i have been using my MFT/ATF 55.  Something like ten plus years.  I have a steel topped folding router table that has been sitting on a stone floor in my shop for even longer.  There is not a sign of rust on that one.  I have purposely left both items in somewhat exposed settings on purpose as i have been claiming on other posts that the method works.  My Bandsaw gets used a lot and I have treated the cast iron table in the same way described.  In over a 15 year period with only an occasional (5 years or so) shot of WD 40 and wax and the annual non-use time being covered with sawdust, there is not a spec of rust.

Works for me in Connecticut in a shop that is cold year round with fluctuations in humidity.  High in summer and low in winter.
