Not to hijack this thread, but I must say I love your springer.  We had them for more than 30 years, including a number of litters.  I may be prejudiced, but I think they are the best overall family pet.

At the time of introduction of the mft3 festool announced the CMS system would come to the US. (At least the two legged version that hooks up to the mft3), I can't find the article anymore, but it was also a report of a woodworking fair, in that article they said the jigsaw inlay wouldn't come to the US because of safety regulations.

I can't find info about the exact measurements of the slidingtable, but festool claims a max croscutting capacity of 830 mm link

I have a CMS with a sliding table. It is a very useful addition to the CMS. You can mount it in two ways, the rail flush with the front or flush with the back of the table. When you use the saw-module, it is a must because it makes your CMS a real tablesaw. When I use the router-module, I remove the fence part of it.

I don't know what elements of the standard CMS are due to be released in the USA, or whether some parts will be altered specially for the US market, but 14 page CMS brochure at http://www.festool.co.uk/images/gb_downloads/brochure_CMS.pdf and the two reviews at http://www.festool.co.uk/images/download_press/cms_2007-05_gw.pdf and http://www.festool.co.za/images/download_press/%5bZA%5dFestool_CMS-Purediversity(WoodSA+TimberTimes08_2006).pdf are worth checking out, even if they do refer to UK/South African models.

Thanks!  We've always had springers around the house.  We got our first in the early 80s and have had an unbroken string since.  I got Rudy (pictured) in 99 a month after I bought my house.  He was eight weeks old and was successfully house trained in two days!  They do make wonderful pets.  It seems as though once you have one, its hard to imagine owning another breed.  Although my wife and daughter are hinting around about getting a Chihuahua some day!

We just got another PC so I'll search through my stack of CDs for more pics.  If I find some, I'll post them in my gallery and pm you.

We had them from 1973 until our last male who died in February, 2007.  We are at the point in our lives where we decided we did not want to start again with a puppy.  We especially loved our last male and female and were so heart broken when they died that we are not sure we want to go through it again.

There is a Springer Rescue that you can access on line by state.  We are thinking that if we change our minds we will probably go that way.

My daughter and son-in-law have a male from our last litter that is now about 12 years old.  He is a mix of looks and personality between his mom & dad.  He kind of keeps our memories alive.

You are right about the housebreaking.  They were all so easy.  I remember our first that we got when he was 6 weeks old.  We were living in an apartment building and the first time I walked him it was drizzling.  He would not come out from under the eaves of the building.  I thought outloud about what a smart dog he was.

I would buy a CMS system for sure!!! I would even pre pay if required. Please Festool bring it in, forget about the Vacuum clamping system (even though it's pretty cool and I could see myself putting it into good use also) but the CMS would solve many many problems in small shops/job sites.

To take it a step further:
1. Please don't only sell it as a "set only", make all components available by the piece
2. Bring all the options to NA, the jigsaw-/router-/TS insert. Free standing and mft attachment
3. Make it available soon!

If I remember correctly there was discussion from Festool USA that getting the whole CMS to past UL or OSHA specifications was pretty hopeless. I believe it was the TS and jigsaw inserts that wouldn't pass. If that's the case it would makes sense that the router insert is the only component shown at the AWFS. Maybe things have been worked out, I can't imagine it would be feasible to release the CMS as a router table only.

I'm a die hard Festool user but I don't know if I could afford the CMS, while I have no idea of possible pricing I'd guess it ain't gonna be cheap.

Stupid regulations....

Anyhow, you are absolutely right, Festool is super expensive. BUT and for me that is a big BUT, it could also save you money! First of all, it will last a long long time--way longer then other brands. And in case it brakes down, no problem, you can fix it. That alone are very big benefits. Ad to that the precision and ease of use and it's a no brainer!
At the end you will spend less because you have to buy it less often.

Now to a point a came across a little while ago:
I'm running a small company that manufactures high end custom furniture. Generating enough revenue to survive is not easy in this business. Therefore you have to keep your overhead as low as possible. Right now I'm working out of 500sqft. Barely room to move! I could of course move into a bigger shop were I could set myself up with some Felder machinery, no problem. But I would then have to peel out about $20-30 a sqft. Do the math for a 1500sqft shop.... Just not doable if you don't want to just eat oats 3 times a day...
My solution is to buy the smallest tools available! What else is there except Festool? You see were I'm getting at? By staying in my little hole for as long as possible, will save  tons of money and it will also allow me to further grow my market share without taking out huge loans! At the end, buying everything festool sounds like a pretty sweet deal. Also the risk of having my employee cutting her fingers off, is quite slim with a TS55 compare to a table saw!

Did I mention that I'm also using all those tools at  job sites? That they hold the value? That I don't have to buy "shop" machinery AND installer tools?

Maybe this all sounds a bit strange to some, but running a young business is not easy and sometimes you just have to do what you have to do.

So, I'm all for it! Bring it in the CMS!

BTW, if I can't get certain attachments in NA then I will have get my family in Germany to place an order for me  ;D

Regarding Pricing, I was told by Festool that you can go to the Festool UK website and take the price of the CMS or whatever and then convert that price to US dollars and that would be the price.  They said the pricing should be the same or very close to UK pricing.

There are all kinds of currency converters all over the net.  Just google it.
