Connecting Mirka Ceros to the Festool family

I bought a Mirka Ceros a couple of years ago and LOVE it.
(I'd probably love the new Festool sanders too, but I already own the Ceros. [wink] [wink])

Can any of you smarty pants suggest ways to connect it (or things to avoid) with the Festool system on 90% of the rest of my power tools?

The Ceros has a long heavy gauge cord connecting the tool to an XLR-like connector at the transformer.  I'd love to connect it instead at the tool with the Festool Plug-it cord that is already sheathed with my vac hose.

Once we'e on the DC side of transformer, could I splice the cord with typical plug-it connections? Or is this asking for trouble?

Thanks in advance,

Joseph

the problem with your musing is that the Festool Plugit pigtail conversion kits (the female part that goes on the tool) are not available in North America. If you can find someone that has brought a few back with them in their suitcase from overseas  [wink], they usually sell in the 30-50 buck range.

You can buy an extra Mirka  4 meter DC cable for $30 on Amazon and elsewhere.

Availability aside, I sure would not use the same type of connector for line voltage and low voltage (like the Ceros).  Too easy (and dangerous for the tools, and maybe people too) to mix them up.

...

sp?.... Did you call?

You could get another hose and attach the CEROS cord to that and switch out hose-n-cord combo at once.

I have a splitter on my CT and the Plug-It cord plugged into one side and the Mirka transformer plugged into the other side.  I just swap hoses as required.
