Consolidated Q&A for Carvex 420 Jigsaws

Just took hold of my corded Carvex. So awesome, only had a play with it in the workshop cut some 6x2 rip and cross cutting, wavy cut too. How square!!!??? It's brilliant. Previously using a Makita jigsaw...zero comparison. Run of handmade kitchens coming up (install only) I fear I will use a jigsaw so much more now. Oh picked up planer eh65, but haven't played with that yet.

I have a Carvex 420 corded model that I purchased last month.  I love the jig saw but have not gotten the hang of keeping the front big siding clear plastic dust shield fully down in operation.  Invariably the shield works its way up and chips fly.  When fully down the dust is almost zero.  Do I need to use the clear plastic base piece that snaps in adjacent to the saw blade to keep the big front shield down all the time?

Love the saw - turn it on, it idles, put a push on the blade and the things cuts for you.  Awesome saw!

Does anyone know what the empty slots in the accessory kit are for?  i've searched and can't find anything.  The festool website doesn't show anything.  My sales guy had no clue either.  It's really bugging me.  Feel like I'm missing out on buying more festool stuff

The Carvex is simply "bad ass"! I got to use the circle cutter and its amazing. Auto on the saw kind of shocks you when it burns out as soon as it hits the material but man this thing glides through plywood. Another testament to the engineering and design of Festool.

The 2 long ones are for additional clip on bases like the dimple. steel, or hooked base. There is room for an extra battery on the Carvex. Then there is the European lock on key.
