Congratulations guys on a well deserved win!  Nice Blaklader shorts Brice!  Next time you win you'll have to wear their kilt and mittens!....

I caught enough flack for wearing shorts, I can only imagine what you guys say if I were sporting a skirt. [big grin]

Well, at long last, it is time to do the drawing for the prizes in the Contest Brought to YOU by the Fogtainers.  Originally I had planned to do a video, but after 5 trial runs and tripping over my tongue, I decided to do it this way.

I took each legitimate entry in the thread and assigned it a number, which was written on a domino.  Shane?s guess was excluded, but Corwin?s was allowed in the consolation drawing.  Dots were entered onto the dominos that represented members who correctly guessed Brice as the recipient.

[attachimg=#]

Here they are sorted out.

[attachimg=#]

And placed into the drawing bowl

[attachimg=#]

Welcome my lovely assistant Bethany who will be doing the drawing this evening.

[attachimg=#]

Bethany draws.  The winner is #31.

[attachimg=#]

Here are the consolation entries in the drawing bowl.

[attachimg=#]

Bethany Drawing again.

[attachimg=#]

And the winner is?

[attachimg=#]

Lucky #39

[attachimg=#]

Congratulations numbers 31 and 39!  You are the winners of this portion of the contest!

But wait; there is the Bethany award.  As someone who has lived thru this project and lived the highs and lows and has tried to scrape me off the ceiling at times, she was given the task to pick someone after reading the threads for whatever reason she came up with.

Her choice?  Well, she is still reading.

Other winners are some of those who helped us achieve milestones in the purchase process.

Congratulations to the winners!  All of these members will be an integral part of the next fun project here.  They will all be testers of prototypes.  They will be asked to give feedback to me so that we can strive to hit an even bigger homerun next time.  They will be asked to not share here on the forum what this next project is.

The Winners Are:

Winner of the Contest:    #13 - Tom Bellemare!
Runner up:  # 39 - Mac!
Bethany Award:  Chris Meggersee!

A few benchmark award prizes:

First order ? skylar !
250th ordered ? seth semenza !
Last Order in the Announced Timeframe ? Dan Claremont !

Personally, I feel I have received far too much recognition in this whole project.   Without Jonathan and Wayne, Festool USA, Tanos USA, Japan Woodworker, and most importantly ? YOU  - this would have been a nothing.

There are two other members who deserve recognition for acts that I can not disclose.

OssieTim and Corwin - I offer the following:  Your offers will come to be.  You epitomize my wildest dreams of what the FOG can grow to be.  There isn?t a prize that could stand up to your generosity and verve.   So all I can ask is for you come join us in this next project .

Congratulations to Tom, Mac, Chris, Skylar, Seth, Dan, OsiieTim, and Corwin!

And Congratulations to All of YOU!

Wow! Little ole' me was the first order in? [eek] As someone who has voluntarily taken on large projects similar to this, I know what you mean by "hi's and low's" Peter. But seeing it through to completion is a truly great feeling. Thanks again to all who made this happen, it's things like this that make this the best forum with the best members on the web, period. I can't wait to see what's next Peter! [thumbs up]

                          Skylar

Three cheers for FOGtainer Pete !!!

Intresting way to do a drawing, you are keeping it all in the Festool theme, very cool...... [big grin]

Congrats to all the winners and a big thank you to Brice, Wayne, Jonathan, Peter and everyone who had a hand in the success of this project.

Also a thank you to Bethany.

Wayne, that trophy is very cool and Peter is well deserving of it! I wonder if we all pool our money together...

I'm afraid Peter would set up a new contest immediately, with the trophy as its prize....

Wow...! I'm really excited to be a part of whatever awesome plans Peter has lined up next...can't wait to see what they involve  [popcorn]

Special thanks to Bethany's hand for drawing my domino [thanks] and congratulations to all who've won or been selected.

Peter, on behalf of all... [not worthy] [not worthy] [not worthy] [thumbs up]

Cheers,
Mac

Wayne,

What can I say other than thanks!  Your poor computer probably hates you about now  [scared].  The next project will probably be hard to render though.

I am looking forward to the next steps with the FOGtainers and also the next project.  Who knows, maybe there will be another contest involved with that one?

Peter

Peter I think I hate my PC more then it hates me. I know the next project is hush hush but if there is anything i came do to help that wont let the cat out the bag let me know. Oh and i hope you have plans to make a display cabinet for the trophy. [scratch chin] OR do i need to render that to..........
[dead horse]

Congrats to all you winners.  Wayne, your renderings (and Woodworking ) skills are truly amazing.

The truth is, we are all winners for being a part of this great Forum.

Neill

Hello,
At first, I missed this discussion, then I decided to wait until it was over to comment.  My summer has been serioiusly busy with new projects, including taking care of a toddler.

Brice Burrell said:
My selection, Matthew Schenker.  Without all his work to get this place off the ground we wouldn't be here.

Tom Bellemare said:
I also agree that Peter, Wayne, and Matthew all deserve it. Peter, are you really multiple people?

Neill said:
I also agree with Brice that a memento to Matthew as a small token of gratitude for making the FOG what it is would be very nice.

Thank you Brice, Tom, and Neill for your nomination.  But someone else can surely make more use of the prize.  I have not had much time for woodworking these days!  Besides -- and although this sounds corny I mean it absolutely -- the greatest prize for me is seeing this forum succeed.  It's a private sense of success, but it really matters.

And even though I have been somewhat silent since the transfer of ownership, I still tell everyone I know how great Festool is in all ways.

Thank you so much for thinking of me.

Matthew

Taking care of the kids has been the best part of my life to date.

Have fun with the toddler, soon the kid will be asking for the car keys and staying out all night worrying the crap out of you. Then away to college and graduation and you will be lucky to see the kid once a month.

I have stayed home during the day with 4 of the 6 kids from baby on and wouldn't trade it for the world. One out of college, one in college, two in high school and two 8 year olds that are the last. What to do when the twins are grown?

Out of all the kids only the 8 year old girl shows any like and natural talent for woodworking, she is already designing me things in her little space in the workshop. She has a portfolio of over 100 designs! Start that kid young!

Nick,
I remember you talking about being home with the kids back a couple of years ago.  I've got just one child -- and I waited until I was older!  That means I am a little more tired, but on the other hand it means I had a prolonged period of non-parenthood in which to do things like, oh, let's say -- create a woodworking forum!  Never would have done that if I had started a family 10 years ago.  Everything in life balances out.

It's interesting, isn't it, how the FOG is weaved into the life stories of a lot of people here?  Whether we had fun, or whether we had disagreements or even battles -- it's all part of our story now.

Hope all is well with you.

Thanks,
Matthew

Hey, I was away and missed all the goings on in this thread.  [sad]

It sure seems like everyone had fun with it.  I congratulate the myriad of winners  [thumbs up] and thank Peter for making everything happen.  [thanks]

In the spirit of winning, anyone that sends me a tool order and in the comments section or by phone says, "You're a winner, Tom", will get a free t-shirt, hat or whatever so that they will be winners also.

I get in trouble if I raffle off a Kapex...

Tom
