Yesterday, My kid opened the garage door (even though I told her it was not to be opened) she forgot and opened it and sent a piece of wood crashing onto my conturo  >:( and the LCD is now broken.  My question is:

1. has anyone taken the hood off this thing? and is it difficult?

I would like to avoid shipping it to and from but part of me says just do that.  It looks like that is the only issue but I was so ticked yesterday I just set it aside and havent messed with it since. 
 
well I got the LCD screen out its not that bad one tip the edgebanding height adjusting knob stays on the upper shroud and comes off in one piece.  That was the only thing that wasnt straight forward
 
$120.40 which isnt to bad.  Hopefully thats all it needs.  I cant see any other signs of damage so crossing fingers on that. Not sure what shipping would cost but Im sure it would have been more than the part.  Unfortunately I missed festool by 10min. today so need to call tomorrow.  They really need to get some type of online ordering system in place for parts.  I found a parts place on line but they wanted 180 so I will wait till tomorrow and call.
