If you convert the UK price to Aussie Dollars at the moment the Ex VAT street price comes to $AU3,341.47.

It's going to be very interesting to see what it ends up in the stores for here for!

Anyone fancy hazarding a guess? [unsure]

If you go on relative price alone for a low volume expensive Festool (CS70) it'd indicate that it'll hit here for about $4,200.00.

Realistically the Conturo is going to be HEAPS cheaper to ship though, so high $3K's should be more realistic.

The BHC18 and MTC55 are going to be interesting also.

We landed ours in Australia in January 2015 for A$3600 including shipping and GST. And that was for the Conturo and the accessories kit. We bought it off a German online store who was prepared to remove the MWST of 19%.
The current Australian price for the Conturo $5000 I believe.

It's a sad thing when you could literally fund a return flight based on the savings you'd make on a single tool purchase!

The Conturo is a neat piece of kit, but it befuddles me how something like a Hammer A3/31 is cheaper!

Add the Silent Partner cutter on the A3-31, and it probably isn't! (My cost for the A3-41, delivered with Silent Partner cutter, digital wheel, and mobility kit was US$6947.)

I bought my Conturo, complete with accessory kit, MFT top, MFT insert, Trimming router bit, and two boxes of pucks in Germany for what was US$4661 at the time.  If I had bought today in Germany, my price would be US$3655 due to current exchange rate....a $1000+ difference! [eek]  (We were exempt from VAT as well).

This ain't no cheap hobby! [scared]

Cheers,
Frank

Hammer in Oz is relatively well priced ... a A3/41 can be had here for just less than $5K (admittedly 3 blade cutter) ... and it's the relativity I'm focused on.

I think you should consider Forex cover if you plan to buy more O/S stuff [wink] [big grin]
