Cordless saw with brushless motor

I believe Makita has either hinted or outright said they are bringing one soon to add to their brushless line.

The current BL hammer drill is pretty weak and the newest impact has lower specs with no speed/torque settings. I was hoping festools ti15 would be a more competitive impact but as it appears to be a "diet" impact I've resigned myself to getting a new Makita kit and am hoping they come out with a more of a flagship version.

I have just finished a review for my magazine of some new Hitachi kit. In my research on the net I noticed that they have introduced at least 5 new drills-drivers with brushless motors. It might be worth sending an email to Hitachi to see if they are going to revamp their cordless saw range.

I have the current Hitachi cordless saw ... it's useful as a hammer  [big grin]

Hi Kev

I just watched a video of the Hitachi circular saw, done by another enthusiastic amateur like me, and I must say that I would not even review it - the dust was going everywhere and the poor guy was struggling to say anything meaningful.

However, I was impressed by the drills that I reviewed and I am sticking to my own Hitachi drills and drivers - that is unless Father Festool comes down the chimney later this year! On second thoughts I am happy with my Hitachis and would rather he brought the Festool CMS-OF insert.

Thanks for the info.  My preference would be to have a Ct and TS but sometimes a plug isn't available or i just need a few rough cuts.

I'll stick with the current offerings in cordless tools.
