Corner grooving ?

Does the mfk 700 have a corner grooving attachment ? The kind used when weather stripping entry doors ?

If you are making the jambs, you can do it with your table saw or a router.  If you're doing  weatherstripping on an installed frame I used a track saw and  a oscillating saw, but it's a pain in the butt. Better of using the nail on metal  stripping  ( used to be brass and it works pretty well ). I only do it once or twice a year, so the special router didn't make sense for me. I could make or buy new jambs and install it easier and more cost effective.

I have the RTC router, these are RTC seals and sweep installed in the arch topped door.

RCT also markets a silicone in place bead.

I'll get a picture of the router tomorrow, it's at a job.

I agree with Brent, if you're making the jambs, pre glove before assembly and use Q-Lons seals.

It's a new entry door I'm pricing right now, I've made several interior doors to match paneling in rooms I've built, never been asked for an exterior door, just figured I look into tooling up for it. It's always great to have a legitimate excuse to buy another systainer , it looks like there's an attachment for the Bosch colt laminate trimmer but he'll I have enough non festool routers

I don't think I'll get away with anything nail on & I can't just buy the jamb it has to be a matching white oak ...

Ok I see tom, it's a metal track that grabs it, I wondered about laminating the stop and precutting that thin kerf in ahead of time but then I saw a video of Tom silva cutting it in on a 45 and thought I might need to cut it in that way......

If it was cut at a 45º angle, he used an RTC seal, groove parallel with the jamb in the stop is a Q-Lon.

For the sweep I used the track, you don't have to. They also make a twin seal that goes in an aluminum channel.

The door seal is the white bead you see in the corner between the jamb and stop.
