Cost of MFT/3 hardware?

Hey gang,

Anyone look into the cost of MFT/3 hardware (namely, the rail supports, protractor and fence assemblies, but not the legs or frame)?  I'm looking to add those capabilities to my homemade MFT tops, but Festool doesn't sell the hardware as a kit.  Mucked around on EKAT but the answer wasn't obvious.  I was going to give service a ring but they're closed for the day, so just thought I'd ask because I'm sure many here have already done this.

Trying to decide if it's worth just buying the Festool parts or whether I should cobble together some sort of Incra-based solution.

I was bored and added up the costs.  This includes the parts for the angle unit (I used the one for the CMS), the MFT/3 fence, the rear hinge unit, the front rail attachment, the clamp that mounts in the side rail to hold the fence, and the feather stops.Prices for entire units were used where available.

Fence - 57.63
Fence stop - 23.96
Rear rail hinge assembly - 54.26
Front rail attachment - 40.04
Fence end clamp - 36.75
The angle unit (in pieces) - 222.76
Feather keys - 10.22
Rail - 95.00
Total - 530.40

cost for MFT/3 - 645.00
cost for MFT Basic - $545.00

if you even have the space to store the MFT/3 I would buy the MFT/3 versus buying the parts separately.

Man, you WERE bored!  But I appreciate it.  [tongue]

All those parts are more expensive than I thought they'd be.  I just can't get myself to spend $650 on the MFT/3.  I'm sure it's fabulous, but I can't do it.  Plus, I'd like to build multiple tables/MFTCs for various needs.

I wonder if the hardware kit for the MFT800, which sells for $130, would do the trick.  Or, I can put together my own solution...

Decisions, decisions!

I have two extra sets of hardware if interested. I would take 130 a set (the difference to a mft basic and shipping costs). PM me if needed. I have a festool guide rail box to ship it in. They are like new condition.

I did what you are looking at now - I used a mft3 top, but my frame was from another tracksaw system. It took some modifications,
but it is set up and functions great. I estimate I saved not quite half over the cost of a full blown mft3. But... I already had the frame. Without that, I would have
gone the route of buying the mft3 as a whole unit. IMO, just buy the front and back support assemblies, purchase some Qwas dogs or Parf dogs
or whichever and forego the mft800 kit... PM me if you have any questions.

Is it possible for someone to post the parts numbers for the different accesories?
It will be very much appreciated.
Thanks:-)

Hi,

I'm toying with the idea of building a large mft/3 with the 2000mm rails and have researched all the parts. These are the numbers:

2 x 496824 - Profile (2000mm)
2 x 472862 - Profile
4 x 464713 - Hexagon screw
8 x 219098 - Hexagon nut M8
2 x 472861 - Angle base
2 x 472860 - Angle base
16 x 228639 - Cheese head screw M8 x 14
4 x 200765 - Spring disc
4 x 228612 - Cheese head screw M6 x 20
1 x 492255 - Rubber foot (4 pcs.)
4 x 492148 - Lower section of pistol
4 x 200735 - Hexagon nut M8
4 x 447534 - Upper section of pistol

Note that I don't need the leg assembly so the part numbers for the leg assembly are not listed!

Here's the reference: http://ekat.festool.de/login/jsp/main.jsp?doAction=start&autologin=true&userId=Kunde-FT_AU&password=Customer&design=festool

Good luck!

You can purchase the hardware for the MFT/3. I don't have the numbers with me. I work at Austin Hardwoods in Santa Ana CA. we sell a lot of Festool products and I just ordered them for a customer. There are 2 sets of numbers that include the fences/stops/all the hardware for the table. Was some ware around $250.

Hello,

I want to build this table in out of U.S., can I buy elements that you excluded from table? I don't need legs and holed MDF plate.

I'd like to know which portion is included of the fences/stops/all the hardware for the table for $250.

Can I buy this things as soon as possible if i order it?

Thank you.

I'm pretty sure you can't get this part in the US

I have the Mft800 and would like to know if the 496824 - Profile (2000mm) will work with the older table.
